The Montserrat project began with the rescue of Montserrat and was released under the SIL Open Font License, a free license. The letters that inspire this project are work, commitment, care, color, contrast, light and life, day and night! These are the boys who make the city so beautiful. If urban development moves to this place, it will never return to its original form and will forever lose the creations that are so special and unique. Older posters and signs from the traditional Montserrat neighborhood in Buenos Aires inspired Juliet Ulaanovsky to create this typeface and preserve the beauty of the urban typography that emerged in the early 20th century.
